Yesterday, 29 people decided to hop in a Ryder truck, take a trip to route 93 (Milton and Medford) and cause complete chaos in demonstration of racism. -AP
Look, I’m all for people speaking their mind, or standing up for what they believe in. But is this really necessary? It is necessary to rent a Ryder truck, stuff a bunch of jobless idiots into the back of it, and drop them off handcuffed to each other in the middle of the highway to prove a point? What does this accomplish aside from getting all the publicity.. How many people are of the race that they are advocating for and speaking on behalf for, late for work yesterday? How many of that race were late for doctors appointments, chemo treatments, or even in the ambulances that had to be diverted to lesser equipped hospitals outside the city. What does this prove? Nothing. Open your own website and speak your mind. Don’t ruin everyone elses day because you have nothing better to do..
These 29 people were all taken into custody and let go last evening without having to post bail. There really should be consequences for this and I believe that is still in the works with charges being filed from the state.
Listening to WEEI this AM, they had on a state trooper who’se name was unknown. He mentioned that these people aren’t done, they will do it again, and there was speculation that they plan on doing this on Rte. 1 on Sunday for the Patriots game.
This is really becoming a circus all over the country. The media and social media is just fueling it even more.
There are plenty of ways to voice your opinion and be heard, but don’t cause mass chaos for thousands and thousands of people (who probably agree with their feelings but don’t feel the need to be assholes in the way it was done).
This morning, I hope they get up, take a shower for once, put some nice clothes on, and hit the pavement, but only instead of laying in the streets, look for a job!
