The story of the 2015 offseason could be the story of the 2016 offseason, at least for the early portions of it.
Via Reuters, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has scheduled oral argument in the Tom Brady case for March 3.
The NFL’s lawyer for the appeal, former U.S. Solicitor General Paul Clement, requested that the argument be set for March 3 or 4 based on a potential conflict with a case he has pending before the United States Supreme Court.
The Brady case eventually could end in the U.S. Supreme Court, too. Whoever loses before the Second Circuit will have appeal rights. However, the Supreme Court first must agree to accept an appeal before resolving it.
Considering the fact that the judge who scrapped the four-game suspension stopped short of resolving all issues raised by the case, a chance remains that the litigation won’t be fully resolved until Brady retires — even if he makes good on his plans to play another 10 years.
The Supreme Court, Deflated Footballs…. You have to be kidding me, right? This isn’t real life. This is some sort of sick twisted prank TV show that we are all a part of. To this day, this is the most laughable things in the history of laughable things. The NFL has spent, and will continue to spend thousands of house and millions of dollars on an investigation and trial of its star athlete because they think he may or may not have taken a little bit of air pressure out of a football. Come onnnnnnn. They have thugs running around the league, beating the crap out of women, those said players are currently in lineups, but the NFL is trying its damn hardest to have Brady sit out 25% of a season because he may or may not have known about air pressure. This is the definition of ludicrous, look it up, it should be there.
You would think after losing the first time around in court Roger would just give up, nope he is going to fight this to the end. Why? Because he is a power drunk fool on a mission. This hearing is a month after Super Bowl 50, that gives us plenty of time to celebrate before going right back into another off season of this crap.
What has to piss the NFL off even more is the success the Patriots are having this year. Has to totally irk them. 9-0 (about to be 10-0) with the biggest freaking microscope in the planet dialed in on them. Fair and square, the Patriots are kicking the crap out of a team in a city near you and there isn’t a damn thing Roger can do about that. But the defensive thing to continue to say if you aren’t a fan of the Patriots is to beat a dead horse and call us cheaters because that is really all you have and I admire you for clinging to that one thing.
Let it go Roger. Let it go, you can’t hold us back anymore! (yeah I have a toddler, so what)
