Houston’s pass-rushing defensive lineman J.J. Watt told reporters Thursday that he broke his hand in practice Wednesday, but that he still intends to play Sunday against the Patriots.
Watt, who leads the league in sacks with 13.5, met with the media on Thursday while sporting a cast on his left hand. He said that when it comes to pain, his elbow injury was worse that what transpired this week.
“People are going to make a big deal out of this, but I’ve played with worse,” he said. “In this game, you’re gonna play with pain. If you don’t, you’re probably playing the wrong sport.”
