The Masters is just one week away. The Super Bowl in the golf world, and Tiger Woods has yet to confirm if he will or will not play. Tiger hasn’t played in a tournament since last Summer due to injury and golf is doing well without him. Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth all have risen to the occasion since Tiger’s fall. But golf needs Tiger and the Masters needs Tiger.
Tiger sits at 14 career majors, trailing Jack Nicklaus by 4. He hasn’t won a major since 2008 which is mind boggling. He hasn’t won a major since his transgressions, which some may call Karma. He has fallen to 472 in the world which is absolutely abysmal, something I never thought I would see. Growing up in the Tiger Woods era, the Master’s just isn’t the same without Tiger. In mid February he sent out a tweet of him swinging and it looked good, short swing, but good. Jim Nantz who apparently has kept in touch with Tiger has stated that Tiger hasn’t ruled out playing in the Master’s.

Progressing nicely indeed. If Tiger can find some sort of swing to keep it in play, as long as his short game is still there he can compete. Tiger was built for the Master’s, his short game was built for the Master’s and if he were to miss it, it just wouldn’t be the same… I need more of this in my life
