Pablo Sandoval is reportedly out for the rest of this season after his shoulder surgery. The surgery comes after Sandoval apparently “slept wrong” on it. This has to be one of the worst contracts in baseball history. The Red Sox won’t be able to recoup any of the money owed on his five-year, $90-million contract because the deal’s not insured, a source told FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.
The guy was unproductive, unmotivated and severely over weight. I am calling BS, I don’t think there is an injury, I think the Red Sox just told him to go away and never come back while they tried to figure out a way to void his contract. Sandoval faked some shoulder injury to boycott the team over his playing time. The guy is a joke, this team should have never taken him on without a weight clause in his contract. The Red Sox were the only team dumb enough to not do that. Lesson learned I guess for everyone.
When Sandoval first “hurt” the shoulder, he claims it was too sore to have it looked at by Dr. James Andrews. Wait, what? He claims it was too sore for a doctor to examine and was sent away to get better before having it looked at. On what planet does that make sense? This guy being gone is the best thing to happen to this team. Sadly they had to waste millions and millions of dollars.
Travis Shaw is killing it at third base, I am glad the Sox stuck with him and didn’t just play Sandoval for the sake of putting a $90million guy in the line up. This is most likely the last time we will hear from Sandoval, his days in Boston are done.
Way to go Pablo, enjoy that big pile of money, free burgers for life.
