It was the commercial heard around the world yesterday. Tom Brady’s latest Foot Locker commercial where he trashes deflate gate was a home run all over the internet (if you missed it, click here).
Yesterday Tom was asked about the commercial during his conference call with the San Francisco 49ers media. Making it sound like he approached the free time he received from his four game suspension with an attitude of “why not?”
“I don’t know exactly what was going through my mind when I made the decision,” Brady told reporters.
He added: “I’ve had a lot of different opportunities over the years and some I’ve chosen to do, and some I haven’t. I’ve been in a very fortunate position to be able to choose the things that I do. I had a lot of free time on my hands at the beginning of the year, so I had to find ways to fill it.”
A few Patriot players also reacted to the commercial, Rob Ninkovich was very impressed with Tom’s acting (although it seemed organic), but Julian Edelman thinks it could have been better. ” “Needs a little more Pacino . He’s pretty artistic when it comes to that type of stuff,” Edelman said, “so maybe he was method acting. I don’t know.”
I would just like to say thanks to Tom Brady for filtering his commercials and picking and choosing what he decides to put his name on (unlike some other QB who will pitch anything). Every one of Tom’s commercials sends a powerful message or gets you motivated. This one here he took a comedic approach and made light of his suspension. Great job Tom
