Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr was mic’d up during the Raiders most recent game against the Indianapolis Colts. Although the Raiders defeated the Colts, in doing so they lost starting QB Derek Carr for the rest of the season. The moment Carr is tackled, he knew he broke his leg and it is just pure sadness. You have to feel for this team, I was actually rooting for a rematch of the 2001 AFC Divisional Round game. The Raiders played out of their minds this season and are still in line to be the #1 or #2 seed depending on how things fall this coming Sunday (they could fall further outside 1 or 2 as well). The Raiders will now have to rely on backup QB Matt McGloin, who is 1-5 in his career, to take them deep into the playoffs. McGloin has thrown 256 passes in his 4 year career to go along with 11 TD’s and 11 INT’s.
If the Raiders want to go anywhere this post season without their starting QB, their defense is going to have to step up their game and create some turnovers. They ranked 27th in the league in forced fumbles with only 5 and rank 28th in the league in interceptions with only 6. Khalil Mack can’t do it all himself, although he will probably try.
