The NFL fined Broncos safety T.J. Ward $9,115 for body slamming Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman in the 4th quarter of their week 15 match up. The play resulted in a pivotal 15 yard penalty on the Broncos which ended up putting the game away for New England.
Now it is being reported that the NFL has rescinded the fine on Ward:
More cash in T.J. Ward's pocket. The NFL rescinded his $9,115 fine for unnecessary roughness penalty vs. NE. League did good. #9sports

This is outrageous. First of all, the guy that tweeted this saying “league did good” is just asinine. What kind of message does this send to the rest of the league? For a guy that’s all about integrity, Roger Goodell certainly sends a weird message to the players.
So it’s completely OK to grab a guy and body slam them to the ground then flex like he’s some sort of professional wrestler? Cool story bro. So much for caring about player safety. How can you watch this play and decide, “nah, you’re good fam, no fine for you”?

Literally makes no sense. Par for the course for the NFL. Good job Roger.
