Aftet two seasons back with the New York Jets, the team has just confirmed that they will be releasing the aging corner:

Revis signed a monster contract with the Jets after winning his first Super Bowl with the New England Patriots and never really lived up to past expectations.
Bill Belichick strikes again. Countless times he has released players that appeared to be worthy of a roster spot but Belichick saw something we all didn’t. It never fails. I had a lot of respect for Revis, but I lost it after he signed his deal with the Jets then just absolutely dogged it. Took plays off, showed zero effort.
It’s tough to tell what’s in store for Revis, after underperforming on his big contract with the Jets, it will be tough to expect anything more from him at a lesser rate. Not to mention he’s most likely going to end up serving some sort of suspension for his pending charges he has against him. That’s if Roger decides to do anything.
The fact that the Jets didn’t immediately release Revis after those 5 charges got served on him says a lot about the Jets organization.
An era is over, adios Darrelle.
