Last nights Bruins loss was a tough one to swallow.
First off, the comeback was amazing. The Bruins were down 3-0 in the second period. They clawed their way back and tied it up by the end of the 2nd period. Amazing.
Then the refs took over the game.
Look I hate to complain about refs, I can’t stand when people complain about refs, but it has to be acknowledged because it was that bad.
First off, Senators defenseman Marc Methot got into the face of Tim Schaller and starts using his head as a speed bad. The refs took BOTH players off the ice and called them both for penalties. On what planet did that make sense?

Methot did the same exact thing to Marchand, to my surprise Marchand didn’t retaliate. No call.
Then in overtime, the refs let two penalties slide against the Bruins deep in the Ottawa zone, at that point I tweeted out that I’m fine with no calls, as long as they stay consistent. After all, it’s overtime in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, let them play!
Refs aren't going to call anything in OT. That's fine, just keep it consistent

Then literally two minutes later, the refs called Riley Nash for a phantom roughing call which set up Ottawa to score a game winning power play goal scored by Bobby Ryan, who coincidentally, just got away with a penalty. Funny how that works.
The game was horribly officiated, you know it, I know it, we all know it. So yes, I’m going to complain about the refs because that was laughable.
The Bruins now find themselves in a 2-1 hole against the Senators and game 4 is a must win game all because of the refs.
They ruined the game and they ruined Patriots Day.
