As far as I’m concerned, basketball can take a back seat when it comes to family.
Following the death of his sister yesterday, Celtics star Isaiah Thomas is described to be ‘in a state of shock’ this according to CSNNE.
The Boston Herald quoted a league source who said Thomas was told of the tragedy after Saturday’s practice. The newspaper also reached Thomas’s father, James Thomas, at his home in Tacoma, Wash., who said his son hadn’t yet made a decision when to travel to the West Coast, though The Boston Globe reported Thomas plans to stay in Boston for Game 1 of the Celtics-Bulls playoff series on Sunday.
The Herald also reported that Celtics coach Brad Stevens was one of the first visitors to Isaiah Thomas’s home after news of the accident was received.
Isaiah is also about to find out how much much support he has from all of New England. The garden is going to be insanely loud for Isaiah tonight. We all want to see him drop 50 points for his family and get a win in game 1 in his sisters honor!
Our thoughts are with you IT.
