Society is filled with countless doctors, teachers, and law enforcement officers, but to my knowledge, there is only one man in the entire world who has dressed up as Forrest Gump to run across the continental United States to raise money for charity. That man is Rob Pope.
Rob has already run over 5,000 miles starting in Alabama and traveling to California before heading back to the east coast. The craziest thing about this story is that Rob’s final destination is all the way up at the Marshall Point Lighthouse in Maine. After a quick Google search, I have discovered that this destination is far past Portland ME, and anything past Portland is basically Canada in my books.
Basically, Rob Pope took a detour out of his cross country running expedition to do a quick 26.2 miles at the Boston Marathon before heading on his merry way to a lighthouse in the middle of nowhere.
I commend Rob for his efforts and super human running abilities however, it is an absolute shame that he did not end his interview with David Wade by dropping this gem and walking off into the sunset-
Also some advice to David Wade, sharpen up that Forrest Gump impersonation, cringe city.
Here’s a link to Rob Popes charity if you feel so inclined to learn more or donate, the guy has run like 5,000 miles after all.
