Campaign season is in full swing for current Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto (D) and it looks like he is going after some low hanging fruit in his new ad to sure up some extra votes for his reelection bid.
While the Democratic Mayor primarily focuses on President Trump Healthcare and Education policies, he is sure to sneak in President Trump’s avid affinity for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots saying-
“Mr. President, if you keep trying to cut healthcare and after-school programs, even a Patriots fan like you should know that won’t play in Pittsburgh,”
While closing the ad with a photo of a Trump/Brady hug session with the headline “Donald Trump: Tom Brady says I’m the greatest.”
I honestly can’t say I hate the hustle by Mayor Peduto. Sure, a Democratic politician going after the controversial Republican President is a no brainier of a campaign strategy. However, the best was to unite the city of Pittsburgh is to appeal to their universal hatred of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. That’s how you wrap up a landslide victory.
After all, Brady has a 10-2 career record (3-0 in playoffs) against the Steelers, throwing for 29 TD’s and just 3 INT’s in the 12 contests. If my team had to endure that kind of shellacking by a player/team for 15 years I would also be filled with a hatred as bright as the countless diamonds on the Patriots five Super Bowl rings.
Just a savvy political move by Mayor Bill Peduto, uniting his constituents by their universal disdain for a common enemy, Tom Brady.
