It was one of the best comebacks in the history of sports on the biggest stage in all of sports. The Patriots rallied from 25 points down to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51.
The New England Patriots were down 21-3 at half time and the Atlanta Falcons were getting the 2nd half kickoff. During half time, all was calm in the Patriots locker room. No panic and no motivational speech from Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots were all business.
In his latest interview, former New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett paints us a picture of just what half time looked like from the teams perspective:
Watching this makes me kind of miss Marty. That guy gave us everything. He never missed a game and he constantly played hurt, I can’t knock the guy one iota. It’s also surprising to me that there was no sort of motivational speech. In my head I had the Any Given Sunday speech by Al Pacino in my head but the Pats were all business and didn’t have a worry in the world. These guys fought for that inch and prevailed. Great interview
