The well-known – though anonymous – musician sets up at T stops and popular destinations around town to play the keytar and collect tips. He’s become a popular figure for the city.

As citizens of these United States of America, we are protected by a Constitution that affords us the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Last weekend, Keytar Bear had those rights viciously stripped from his paws by a group of New Hampshire hooligan’s.
The actions of these teenagers against Keytar Bear are not just an affront to the civil liberties of this musically gifted bear, they are an abhorrent indignity to the very fabric of our society.
If a peaceful funk-loving Bear cannot safely crank out funktastic jams within the city of Boston without the fear of violent retribution, then I truly believe that there may be nothing sacred left in this world.
I pray that the national media does not get a whiff of this tragedy as the talking head’s, such as Bomani Jones, are sure to push their agenda and make this an issue of Bearism. I don’t know how anyone could possibly assert that Boston is prejudice against bears when one of our major sports teams is named after one. What this boils down to is a bunch of out of state teenagers disrespecting the cultural institution that is Keytar Bear. Let’s not ignore facts to push a false narrative and agenda.
While this incident is a a significant dent toward the unity of our nation, not all hope is lost. Thankfully some courageous Bostonians have created a GoFund Me page to help replace the downtrodden bear’s damaged equipment. The page originally had a goal of $500 but has already raised over $5,000.
While the cash will undoubtedly afford Keytar Bear a musical setup to rival that of any animal musician across the country, it is the outpouring of support that Keytar Bear may appreciate the most. To know that countless people embrace and support your musical passion despite your unconventional origin as a bear, must provide Keytar Bear with a immense sense of comfort and belonging. This feeling of acceptance is a gift that far surpasses the realm of monetary value.
God’s speed Keytar Bear, hope to hear your funky jams again soon. Now cue those dirty Keytar licks brotherman-
