The rumors were flying around earlier today that the Boston Celtics were in heavy discussions in a blockbuster trade that would send the number 1 pick to the Philadelphia 76ers.
It appears it’s a done deal:
Trade between Philly and Boston will be finalized on Monday, per source. Sides have agreed. Sixers will get first pick and take Fultz.

The Celtics will send the #1 overall pick to the 76ers and they will take Markelle Fultz. The remaining part of the deal has yet to be finalized but it’s safe to assume the Celtics will receive the number 3 and some other compensation in return. Update below:
Sources: For top pick, Sixers planning to send Celtics '17 No. 3 overall pick, '18 FRP (via LA) and '19 FRP (via Kings) – w/ protections.

It’s safe to assume that the Celtics will be taking SF Josh Jackson out of Kansas, let’s hope this doesn’t turn out to bite the Celtics in the ass. I personally like the move, Jackson coming from Kansas, he is basically NBA ready right out of the gate.
Update 2: there’s more to come
Multiple NBA sources believe Celtics are working on another deal. One told me: "Who cares about the protections? They aren't keeping them."
