Aaron Judge is good at hitting baseballs. I think we can all agree with that statement after last night. In a performance highlighted with an improbable, and straight up silly first round performance that included 23 moon shots, Aaron Judge cruised past a talent pool filled with the league’s best sluggers.

Although its tempting to label this an upset over reigning winner Giancarlo Stanton, last night was right on par with Aaron Judge’s young career so far. Judge is running a muck on baseball, and I hate that I love it. I hate how much I love him. He’ll probably end up bringing the Yankee’s back from stinking, and most likely break my heart in the next few coming falls, but I can’t help but sit back and enjoy what this kid is doing.
Like I got pure enjoyment last night out of just watching this kid hit baseballs. There’s something fun about watching a 6’7″, 280 pound rookie hit balls as far as he can over and over, no matter what team he plays for.
With all that being said, is he the least hateable Yankee? I think he might be. Maybe it’s because the Red Sox-Yankee rivalry has been on pause for the last couple years. Maybe I’m going soft. But I just can’t get myself to dislike this kid. I need him to start being a Yankee. Maybe the Yankee organization is going soft, churning out somewhat cool athletes. They need to get back to their roots. If there’s one thing the Yankee’s are good at doing, its making me hate people. Stay in your lane.
This is just making me miss like ’04. I miss ARod. I miss Aaron Boone. Gary Sheffield. Roger Clemens on steroids. I miss it all. I guess you don’t know what you got til its gone.
