Kyrie Irving a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers since June, and it sounds like he’s very excited to be joining the Boston Celtics after the blockbuster trade finally went through. The trade for Irving, after hitting a snag, was completed late last night after the Celtics threw in an additional 2nd round pick in the 2020 draft.
The Boston Globe has been told by their source that Kyrie is ecstatic about the trade and that he’s looking forward to playing for Brady Stevens:
Have been told that Kyrie is "ecstatic" about the trade, looking forward to playing for Brad Stevens and understand the #Celtics tradition.

I’m guessing he’s really looking forward to raising another one of these in the Garden
I’m pumped having Irving in Boston. First of all, he’s talented, and he’s young. That being said, Isaiah was our guy. He was our lovable hero. We were there for him through thick and thin. I’m not throwing Isaiah to the trash, but I believe this move makes us better in the long run, it’s evident now that the Celtics weren’t going to extend IT.
Irving is signed for two more seasons with a player option for the 2019-20 campaign. So, he’ll be in Boston for at least two years. Thomas will become a free agent after next season.
This Celtics team is going to be a force for years to come. They’re very young and loaded with talent. The Celtics open the season on 10-17 against the Cavs, it’s gonna be epic.
