It’s week 4 of the preseason, which is typically the least exciting of any of the 4 preseason games. It’s really the last shot for any guys on the bubble to make an impression. Other than that, it’s a lot of 2nd and 3rd stringers.
After last week losing Edelman, the Patriots have decided to sit all their key players for tomorrow nights game against the New York Giants. According to Jeff Howe, Brady and the veterans are all taking the night off:
Tom Brady and the veterans are expected to get the night off tomorrow against the Giants, per source. They're on to Kansas City.

Too bad this wasn’t the game plan last week, I know the guys need some reps, but personally, if you’ve been in the system for a while, perhaps those players should just sit out in the preseason all together. There’s honestly not any reason for Edelman, Gronk, Hogan and any other returning player to play much at all. I was surprised to see the Patriots using Gronk in the preseason, it’s the first time he’s played in a preseason in five years. Sorry but it just seems ass backwards and counterproductive. I know you can’t coach with a scared mentality and fear of injuries, losing guys for the year for a meaningless preseason game hurts me deep.
I’m going to assume we’re going to see a lot of Brissett, maybe even the entire game. Then I would assume no Brady, Cooks, Hogan, Amendola, Gronk on offense and no Hightower, Butler or Gilmore on defense among others. 8 days til the opener, let’s get there in one piece.
