The Jets are going to be awful this year. How bad you ask? Bad enough that they’re trying to do anything they can to boost their ticket “sales” to make it look like people are showing up.
As reported first by Busted Coversge, an employee was caught scanning unsold tickets as if they were being entered into the game, then throwing them right out, because that’s where Jets tickets actually belong, in the trash

Ticket sales dictate a lot of things, not just the appearance of your team being absolutely hated by your own fan base. This also affects sponshorship and the money the sponsors have to pay for in-stadium advertising. This is totally deceitful, quite honestly, I’d say take away draft picks, but it won’t even matter.
The attendance for the Jets preseason opener was 77,000, but it looked more like 7,700
