The New England Patriots could be heading into this weekends game against the New Orleans Saints a little thinner than they already are.
After sustaining injuries last week against the Chiefs, Dont’a Hightower and Danny Amendola have yet to return to practice.
First practice of the week: Hightower (sprained knee), Amendola (concussion) and Valentine (knee) are absent. Slater (hammy) on rehab field.

Amendola’s absence indicates that he is still in the concussion protocol, which, if he’s still in it at this point, could mean he is in the early stages. As for Hightower, it’s possible he could still play this weekend, in the past, the Patriots have been very cautious with Hightower when it comes to limiting him in practice after injuries.
The Patriots could certainly use these two guys, when Hightower left the game against the Chiefs, it was noticeable. As far as Amendola, as weak as the Saints D looked against the Vikings, the Pats should be ok without him.
