With 8:31 to go in the fourth quarter, a 4-yard Austin Seferian-Jenkins touchdown seemed all but to secure a unforeseen win for the Jets over the Patriots. Until it was overturned, that is.
Upon review, officials decided that Seferian-Jenkins, who momentarily bobbled the football en route to the end zone, never fully regained possession before coming to the ground. The caveat is exactly where he fumbled it, into the end zone and out-of-bounds, a touchback for the other team, per NFL rules.
We interrupt our usual programing to deliver a PSA:
Don't let your friends be Jets fans. It's not good for their mental health pic.twitter.com/tsOU0Tq7oM

Here’s the thing, yeah it sucks, but the dude lost possession of the ball as he was grossing the goal line, and as he regained possession, he was out of bounds… so, it’s a fumble. suck it up and deal with it. The Jets had the Patriots on the ropes the entire first half but couldn’t close it out when it mattered most, gotta play the entire 60 minutes to beat this team. Clearly you can see the ball come loose as he crosses the goal line.
