It’s the most talked about topic on Sports talk radio this morning. The controversial call that lead to a turnover by the Jets.
In what was originally called a touchdown, the play was reviewed and ruled to be a fumble out of the end zone.

We’ve all seen the still frame where the ball is completely out of the receivers hands, at the point of that still frame he’s at the 1 yard line and never gains total control until he’s out of bounds. There’s no doubt in real time it looked like a touchdown. But when it’s slowed down you see the ball come loose by the incredible play by Malcolm Butler. The ball comes loose and the receiver never really gains full control of the ball before crossing the pylon and out of bounds. It’s an unfortunate call for the Jets, but it is what it is.
Props to Malcolm Butler for this incredible heads up play. He may have gotten beat early on in the game, but Butler is relentless and doesn’t stop until the whistle blows. Butler doesn’t get enough credit for his play and even on this play here, he’s getting overlooked. He was the only person on the held that knew exactly what happened. He got right up and got right in the refs face. Butler is the sole reason for that fumble as it was ruled. Now pay the man.
