Boyden Elementary in Walpole has cancelled Halloween because it's 'not inclusive' & will have 'Black & Orange Spirit Day' instead.

It’s almost incomprehensible that in this day and age we can celebrate a holiday that is so distasteful and fails to include the vast majority. It’s 2017 for Pete’s sake and we’re going to celebrate a holiday called “Black and Orange” day?
What about all the other colors of the rainbow? Where is their holiday? Have we as a society completely forgotten the very concept of ROYGBIV? Do indigo and violet not deserve their time in the spotlight?
Shame on the Walpole Massachusetts education system for omitting so many colors from their celebration. Next thing you know the Walpole Public school system will reduce the size of every students crayon box to just black and orange, citing budget cuts.
I will not stand for such injustice. I propose every color no matter how obscure deserves a day of celebration. I will not stop until lavender, periwinkle, forest green, and all the other colors that come in the deluxe 64 pack of Crayola crayons, with the built crayon sharpener, are acknowledged and celebrated by the Walpole educational system. The injustice and inequality stops now.
