With his victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, Tom Brady tied Peyton Manning and Brett Favre for 1st all time in regular season wins (Tom already owns the record for most wins including post season games).
During his weekly interview with Jim Gray on Westwood One on Monday Night Football, Tom was asked if he heard from Peyton or Brett after tying the record.
“No, I didn’t. I actually texted Peyton, but he texted me back,” Brady said. “I was really happy for him. I saw a bunch of things on social media with him being honored with the statue outside of the Indy dome. I was really happy for him. And Brett, he’s become a friend too. They have always been really supportive of me. They are great guys. They are great players in the sport, two people I’ve really looked up to, who I was very fortunate to compete against. I am so happy for both of them.”
Added Brady on Manning’s statue: “I thought that was very cool for him. He certainly deserves it.”
Brady won his 186th regular-season game in his 242nd game and 240th start. Favre won his 186th game in his 297th start and his 301st game, while Manning won his 186th in his 263rd start and game.
After seeing what was done for Manning, there better be a monument large enough for Brady that you can walk under it on your way into Gillette. I want that thing 328 feet tall. I wanna be able to climb on his feet.
