Former Toronto Blue Jays ace and Cy Young award winner Roy Halladay has died in a small plane crash in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday afternoon.
Pasco County Fla. sheriff confirmed that Roy Halladay, a two-time Cy Young winner and a father, died in a plane crash.

Halladay previously posted pictures and videos of himself flying his new ICON A5 light-sport aircraft on his Twitter account.

Halladay pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1998-2009 and the Philadelphia Phillies from 2010-2013. He was a 2 time cy young. 8 time all star, threw a post season no hitter and also threw a perfect game. He was always one of those pitchers that tormented the Red Sox. One hell of a player. A true workhorse. This guy was a strikeout machine on my fantasy team for years. Rest In Peace, Roy.
