Martellus Bennett has decided to give some context and background regarding his strange release from the Green Bay Packers just 8 weeks into the NFL season. Martellus posted these messages via his Instagram story which does a decent job in explaining what exactly happened.
It appears that Martellus basically had a shoulder injury that he wanted to have surgery on, which would have ended his season. The Packers team doctor advised against that which caused Bennett to get a couple of second opinions regarding the injury, which advised surgery.
Now, after Martellus hinted that he may retire at the end of the year the Packers understandably thought they were going to be shit out of luck, in regards to some of the money still owed to him, so they cut him.
As we all know the Patriots picked him up and today Martellus passed a physical and was out at practice. Though that doesn’t mean Bennet was faking his shoulder injury-
Martellus Bennett, who arrived in NE with a torn rotator cuff, passed his physical and was at practice. He didn’t practice for 2 weeks in GB https://t.co/XMtj3Z3J2R

Which basically means Bennett wasn’t willing to play injuried for a sinking Packers team (totally understandable) but is willing to give it a go for the Patriots and nab another ring, hence the “fuck it” at the end of his instagram story.
