Matthew Slater left Sunday’s Patriots game with an apparent lower body injury. He did not return.
It’s not being reported that he is flying home today while the team remains in Colorado preparing to make the trip to Mexico. According to Ian Rapoport, Slater’s Injury is described as “serious” and could mean multiple games:
Matthew Slater’s hamstring injury was described to me as “serious.” Looking at a multi-game absence. https://t.co/466CErmrso

Not good news, Slater is the heart and soul of the Patriots special teams. You start to understand the emphasis that Belichick puts on special teams when you see the Patriots do what they did this week on Special Teams.
The thing that baffles me is in the Patriots post game locker room video, Slater looks ok, belting out his final “awwwww yeah!” Hopefully multiple games means just a few games and not the rest of the season. Each of these games down the stretch are big as the Patriots battle for the number 1 seed.
