CBS Boston:FALMOUTH, Maine (CBS) – If you’re preparing Thanksgiving dinner this week, avoid dumpster turkeys.
That’s the message from police in Falmouth, Maine after they learned someone had removed frozen turkeys from a dumpster behind a Hannaford supermarket.
Those turkeys were thrown out because they had thawed due to a mechanical failure at the store, police said.
Authorities believe someone intended to redistribute the turkeys in the community.
Well, holiday season is here and it’s the time of the year where the smut entrepreneurs come out in full force to pedal profitable garbage in order to buy some crappy gift – or extra peppermint schnapps, take your pick. Everyone has their mind on the money this season and it looks like this guy got some pre-black friday hustle in before everyone else. This guy has it figured out, his Christmas bonus is all mad money now.
Regardless, if you go out of your way to buy black market Turkey from some “joe schmo” in a random Hannaford’s parking lot – you must understand the Turkey was tampered with. If not, you will have one hell of a newsworthy learning experience. I get it, Hannaford’s prices are bonkers – but just run over a Turkey, or go hunt one (is it still Turkey season?). Also, what in the world is Hannafords doing throwing whole Turkey’s in a wide open dumpster? I get it’s probably some 17 year old bagger doing it – but everything during the Holiday’s is an asset that can be flipped for a profit. Grocery stores should just shred them like bank statements.
This is like Trailer Park Boys when they go steal meat and sell it in the parking lot out of their trunk – then gain Phil Collins as a worthy competitor who was selling Trout:
This guy was probably a couple days away from a solid competitor in the black market Turkey business.
