Wow just wow. Since 1987 not one single coach in the Cleveland Browns franchise has mustered more than 34 wins. The sad thing is that a young and relatively inexperienced Belichick coached the Browns for a mere 5 seasons, and only managed 1 winning season in that time. Here’s a rundown of his W-L record-
That’s the best the best that Cleveland has to offer in the last 30 years, and that’s not knock on Belichick either. He was a 39 year old first time head coach, and the lumps he took as the HC of the Browns are most likely a huge reason why he’s the coach he is today.
This stat mainly speaks to the ineptitude of the Browns franchise as a whole. Since that 1994 season where Belichick manage to win 11 games, the Browns have just one season with double digit wins, which came in 2007 under Belichick’s protege Romeo Crennel who managed to squeak out 10 wins. For the record, in the last 23 year, the Browns have one season with at least 10 wins.
To put that in perspective the New England Patriots can metaphorically roll out of bed, hungover and covered in last nights vomit, and bang out a 11-5 record like it ain’t no thing.
Also, any time we bring up Bill’s time in Cleveland it’s important to share these memories, because honestly young Bill could get it-
