Now folks, I ain’t no doctor, but I’ve seen a seizure or two in my day (don’t ask), and that my friends is Texans QB Tom Savage suffering a certified seizure on the field.
Former New England Revolution player Taylor Twellman agrees with me, and Twellman suffered about 1,300 concussions during his soccer career, so he’s basically a expert in the subject.
Really scary stuff for Savage here, as you’re body is definitely not supposed to convulse like that under any circumstances. If I were Savage and someone showed me this clip of myself spasming on the ground after a brutal hit, I’d honestly just retire right on the spot.
The crazy thing is that Savage didn’t even come out of the game after this hit. There’s a ref standing right next to him watching him shake, rattle, and roll and no one stops to think “Hmmmm this guy’s brain may be swelling up three times it’s normal size right now”. Unbelievable incompetence by everyone involved.
Savage was eventually taken out of the game and entered the concussion protocol, However, the fact remains that no one immediately realized Savage was in no shape to remain on the field for even one more snap.
