Tom Brady and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels went at each other on the sidelines in the first half of the Patriots victory over the Buffalo Bills. The outburst was nothing more than a coach and his QB trying to both be on top of their game.

Stephan A. Smith thinks the outburst was acceptable only because Tom Brady is white. Smith said: “It was a big deal, only from this perspective: if (Brady) were black, we would be going off about it,” Smith said on “First Take” Monday. “The fact is, Tom Brady –– he’s had outbursts on the sidelines before. It is absolutely, positively no big deal to me. In the heat of action, when you’re on the sideline and you’re going off, I understand that comes with it. In no way am I trying to excoriate Tom Brady. What I am attacking is the inconsistency of ‘Joe’ or ‘Suzie Public’ out there who would be quick to denigrate a black athlete if he was on the sideline acting that way. He would be cited for insubordination; he would be perceived as being completely out of control –– temper tantrums. ‘Maybe he has some anger management issues and needs to take a course’ or something along those lines. But when Tom Brady does it, well ‘that’s Tom Brady.’”
Stephan A. isn’t the only person in the national media with this opinion. Chuck Modi of the NY Daily News had a similar approach:
Tom Brady is such a “competitor”. That is why I love him. Just let Dez Bryant do this & watch media lose their mind. pic.twitter.com/UkOemNbx3K

No fellas, when Tom does it, it’s about respect, it’s about honor, it’s about what Tom has done in his past. His resume allows him to have outbursts like that. If Dez Bryant wins 5 Super Bowls, I assure you he won’t get crucified for an outburst. This is about a QB and a coach that have been together for years. There’s that respect that they can have an outburst, then 20 seconds later get back to business. This is nothing more than the media and folks like Stephen A. pushing their agenda and trying to stir up a whole another debate. This is exactly why no one watches ESPN. They’re the most racist, race baiting folks on TV. The 6 o’clock SportsCenter with Jemele Hill and Michael Smith is the most racist show going. They look disgusted when talking about anyone white, then when someone black is talked about, they roll into the studio like Oprah when she’s doing one of them giveaway episodes. I wish that was an exaggeration, but it’s not
