Just when you think ESPN couldn’t be any more of a laughing stock, they elevate their game and take it to a whole another level.
ESPN and their “wide world of sports” coverage were going over the AFC Championship game with the Patriots hosting the Jaguars. They published an article on who will handle the monumental task of covering New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski. The writer of the article expresses that the Jags may not use Jalen Ramsey a bunch on Gronk, but instead will feature a lot of Johnathan Cyprien:
Sounds like a good plan, that is, if Johnathan Cyprien played for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In fact, Cyprien plays for the team that New England just beat in the Divisional Round, the Tennessee Titans.
This is literally the least shocking thing I’ve read from ESPN. What’s next? Is Mark Brunell going to tear up the Patriots? Is Fred Taylor going to bust out and have a big game against the Patriots D? Does ESPN even have editors anymore? I get that we have typos evry once in a while, but we’re a low budget blog, not the “worldwide leader in sports”. Is there any accountability at ESPN? I’ll answer that, no, there isn’t. Good luck with Gronk tomorrow Johnathan! Looking forward to seeing that nonexistent battle! This game is going to be such a laugher, that ESPN is just resorting to making stuff up.
