Mass Live – The Boston Celtics will not honor Isaiah Thomas with a video tribute Wednesday night, but only because the Cleveland Cavaliers star has requested not to receive one.
While sharing the news with reporters early Tuesday afternoon, a Celtics spokesman said he did not know why Thomas chose to make the request. It could be that the guard would prefer to receive his ovation during a game when he can actually play. Though he will make his season debut Tuesday night, Thomas will not suit up Wednesday against the Celtics because he is not yet cleared to play in both legs of a back-to-back. Though he has typically traveled with the Cavaliers while dealing with an injured hip, it’s possible he might not even make the trip to Boston.
Here’s the thing, I loved Isaiah, mainly because he made the Celtics exciting again, but my god, there’s nobody saltier than him. The guy is acting like he got fired and was forced to work at Mcdonalds. You got traded, to the Cleveland Cavs, suck it up. It happens all the time in the NBA. Since being traded, he’s basically thrown a 4 month long tantrum tweeting and posting things on Instagram and doing interviews bashing the Celtics. If I were LeBron, I’d tell him to cut it out. It’s like he can’t let go of an ex-girlfriend
Let’s be honest, Video tributes have gotten a little out of hand. Kelly Olynyk got a video tribute. Everyone gets them now. They should be reserved for icons coming back to town. If I were Danny, I would respond by saying we didn’t have one lined up anyways. So salty, Isaiah, so salty.
