Belichick stepped off the plane in Minnesota on Monday wearing a suit, tie and a fedora, looking like he was ready to take on the world.
The hat caught the attention of many and Pats fans went to social media to express their love of his fashion choice. Bill’s fashion choices usually make people shake their head, wondering why every shirt he owns needs to have the sleeves ripped off, but people loved this, and loved Monday’s look even more when they heard the story behind the hat.

The hat was more than just a fashion choice, it was a nod to his late father Steve Belichick, who Bill looked up to when it came to life and football. The Coach told former Patriots player and current NFL Network reporter, Willie McGinest in an interview Monday, “That was my dad’s hat, so I thought I’d just toss that one on today, because I felt good about wearing it. Minnesota’s a good place to have a hat, so it did the trick.”
The last time the Patriots took on the Eagles in the Super Bowl, Steve Belichick was on the sideline. Many will remember the Gatorade bath Steve, and Bill, received after the game from Tedy Bruschi, a special moment for the father and son duo.
Even if he didn’t say too much about the hat, it is nice to see a more sentimental side to the usual stone cold Belichick.
