The New York Rangers and Boston Bruins agreed to a trade Sunday morning that will send veteran forward Rick Nash to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 2018 1st round pick, defenseman Ryan Lindgren, forwards Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey, and a 2019 7th round selection.
In 60 games with the Rangers this season, the Rangers assistant captain has piled up 18 goals and 10 assists.
As a part of the deal, the Rangers will be retaining 50 percent of Nash’s remaining salary for the 2017-18 season, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, who added that the amount was the max allowed and that it was a necessity for the trade to go through given the limited cap space the Bruins had available.
According to report, Nash is expected to join the Bruins tonight in Buffalo and is also expected to play. My only question is with Riley Nash, what do the back of their jerseys say now? Ric and Ril Nash? Good move for the Bruins adding another veteran down the stretch, sad to see Spooner and a 1st rounder go, but you gotta give to get I suppose.
