Sports debate shows have their fair share of moronic takes – those waters are always muddy with bullshittery. No water is more contaminated than Undisputed, they’re the Colts of debate shows if we’re being honest. Mediocre, but somehow still getting headlines. No day during the year is more loaded with reaches and overreactions than the Monday after the Super Bowl.
Rob Parker is without a doubt, the dumbest human in sports media. My theory about Parker is that he is put on Undisputed as a plant to make Skip Bayless look a lot smarter. There is no other reason – His takes stink on literally everything, now we have the cherry on top:
“The bottom line is Joe Montana is officially back in the spot of the greatest quarterback of all time,” Parker said. “He is the GOAT. 4-0, 11 TDs, 0 INTs, 3 MVPs, you can’t play better than that… With this loss now, Brady is out of the conversation.”
Parker put the blame for the loss solely on Brady, whose late game turnover led to the Eagles taking a 41-33 lead on a field goal and leaving the Patriots with little time to take a comeback victory.
“100 percent to Tom Brady,” Parker said. “For the first time, New England Patriots fans and I agree Tom Brady was the goat in the Super Bowl. I’m not talking about the Greatest of All Time, just the goat who made the big blunder that cost him the game.”
Brady threw for a whopping 505 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in the game, outgaining Foles’ effort of 373 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. But Foles and the Eagles won the game in the end, which turned out to be the turning point for Parker.
“It’s about points, it’s not about yards,” Parker said. “It’s about points, that’s what wins games. And Nick Foles was the best quarterback on that field Sunday night.”
I don’t even know where to start on this thread of bullshit. So, i’ll start with a take. If you watch Joe Montana highlights and think he’s better than not only Tom Brady, but Peyton, or Rodgers – then I don’t know what football we are watching. Drew Bledsoe, Vinny Testaverde, Carson Palmer, Eli Manning, and Philip Rivers all blow Joe Montana away for all time yards. The same goes for touchdowns all time, and Matt Ryan is going to easily surpass Montana next season. Not saying Montana isn’t great, but those 49er teams would have won with Brian Hoyer at QB. Super Bowl XXIV was Montana’s best by far, and their defense forced FIVE turnovers and had SIX sacks. Could you imagine if Brady got 2 turnovers and 2 sacks? End score probably would have been 33-21 Patriots.
Not to mention, Brady has more rings, yards, TD’s, and MVPs in super bowl’s than Montana….. and 11 more playoff wins. (Kermit sips tea meme).
How can you watch that game, look at 505 yards 3 TD’ 0 INT and say that game is 100% on Brady?? The defense allowed the Eagles to go 12/18 on 3rd & 4th downs. The Eagles averaged nearly 11 yards per play on 3rd & 4th downs. Not to mention The Clement TD, Ertz go ahead TD, and Foles receiving TD happened on 3rd & 4th down. That’s 21 of the Eagles 41 points. Tom Brady was the first QB to lose a game throwing 500+ yards, wonder why that is? Get a clue. Eagles RB’s had 5.96 yards per carry, and Clement had 100 yards threw the air by himself alone.
The media went from calling Brady the unequivocal GOAT, to questioning his legacy in a matter of 12 hours. That’s what happens when a struggling TV Show needs a boost in the ratings, they reach to some outlandish take that will get the Facebook shares and YouTube commentary. Who better for FS1 to pull out of the bullpen then Rob Parker? Yikes.
