The Guardian – Nadezhda Sergeeva, who finished 12th in the two-woman bobsleigh, has become the second Russian to test positive for a banned substance at the Winter Olympics. Sergeeva had recently appeared in an Instagram video wearing an “I Don’t Do Doping” sweatshirt.
Nadezhda Sergeeva was the pilot of the bobsleigh team that finished 12th in Pyeongchang, and her positive test result was announced on Friday morning. In a now deleted video posted to the social network on 15 February by filmmaker Roman Bibishev, Sergeeva features in several scenes wearing a sweatshirt emblazoned with: “I don’t do doping, I am ZASPORT.”
Talk about your all time backfires. This is like the only kids who wore D.A.R.E tee shirts in school were the kids that smoked weed. Can you imagine the balls it takes to be a part of an entire country that’s banned from the Olympics, but are still allowed to compete under the “Olympic Athletes from Russia” only to show up all doped up. I’m not even mad, I respect the devotion to doping. If I had it my way, baseball players would be doped up and Olympic athletes can dope themselves up until they’re content. The Russians are having a bad year. Russia is that kid in school that can’t stay out of trouble and has so many issues with their own image and low self esteem that they have to try and bully and take it out on others. They can’t win legitimately so they cheat. Sad!
