The Patriots continue to make moves and clear up cap space. Today it is reported that they have released Veteran TE Martellus Bennett:

The move will free up about $6M in salary cap space which now moves the Patriots cap space to $23M. The move also gives me a little bit of confidence that Gronk is coming back, if that was still in question, perhaps they would have kept Bennett.
Bennett’s second stint with the Patriots was cut short due to his torn rotator cuff. It’s possible he could return with a lower salary, but there’s also a good chance that Bennett hangs it up as he talked about retiring last season.
After the Bennett release, the Patriots have four tight ends on their roster: Rob Gronkowski, Dwayne Allen, Will Tye and Jacob Hollister.
