The Tracking Board– As legend has it, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Sylvester Stallone have encouraged New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski to give Hollywood a shot this off-season, and it appears the tight end has listened, as sources tell the Tracking Board that Gronkowski will join Frank Grillo and Mel Gibson in Joe Carnahan’s action movie BOSS LEVEL.
The film co-stars Naomi Watts, Annabelle Wallis and Will Sasso.
Grillo will play a retired special forces veteran who becomes trapped in a never-ending loop that results in his death every day.
Gronkowski’s role is being kept under wraps, but you can safely expect him throw a punch or two. Let’s just hope he takes off his Super Bowl rings first.
This news has me worried about Rob Gronkowski’s future with the Patriots in the sense that Gronk has graduated from “acting” in “movies” that go directly to DVD, to acting in a movie that will probably go directly to DVD, but actually has some legitimate household names associated with it, like Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts.
Technically, this is a small step towards Gronk climbing the Hollywood ladder to eventually having actual lines, in an actual Hollywood film, that’s screened in actual movie theaters, and is seen by actual people.
However, let’s be real, this Boss Level is the type of movie that you scroll right by while you’re trying order an actual movie on Red Box. It’s also not like Gronk is going to have a legitimate role in the film either. He’s going to be a nameless henchman who silently stands in the background, and gets killed by the main character after throwing a couple punches.
