The Patriots continue to shake up their roster, this time they have traded wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
According to Adam Schefter, the Patriots have traded Cooks to the Rams for a 1st round pick and a 6th round pick in the upcoming draft.
Patriots are trading WR Brandin Cooks and a fourth-round pick to LA Rams for the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and a sixth-round pick, league sources told ESPN.

Sort of saw this move coming. Cooks was good don’t get me wrong, but the Patriots need help elsewhere and with his contract coming up for renewal, the Patriots weren’t going to be able to retain Cooks. The Patriots will take those picks and turn them into key players needed defensively. Cooks was a hell of a player, young too, but I just don’t think the Patriots were going to be able to take on his new contract.
As for the Rams, what an offseason for them. They have gone from one of the worst teams in the league to one of the best teams and will certainly be a factor in the NFC. They have now acquired Brandin Cooks, Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Sam Shields and Ndamukong Suh. They’re also continuing to make a push for Odell Beckham.
