WCVB– Coffee with an extra kick? Two of Massachusetts most notable beverage sellers plan on giving beer and coffee lovers just that.
Canton-based Dunkin’ Donuts and Boston-based Harpoon Brewery are brewing up the Dunkin’ Coffee Porter beer.
Set to release around late October to early November, the beer will feature a “roasty, malty and smooth” texture with a dark chocolate and espresso aroma.
It will be brewed with Dunkin’ coffee and have a six percent alcohol-by-volume content.
I’m honestly flabbergasted that it has taken someone this long to combine two of Massholes favorite things- beer and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
Though I’m a little skeptical of the description of the beer when they use words like- Roasty? Smooth? Dark Chocolate? Expresso? This beer is being brewed with Dunkin Donuts actual coffee correct? Shouldn’t the description be more along the lines of “milky sugar water with bits of coffee grounds floating around in it?
Regardless, this beer is sure to be a massive hit when it debuts in the fall. However, I would suggest that Harpoon Brewery invests in a large amount of styrofoam cups to put their pint glasses in, as we all know that’s the only acceptable way to drink any cold Dunkin beverage.
